Dreamweaver MX 2004 was the established web authoring tool published by Macromedia, which is now owned by Adobe. The program creates HTML code for you, but as far as the designer is concerned, it functions very much like a word processor. Although the most current version is Dreamweaver 8 (released Fall 2005), you will find the two versions remarkably similar. Fireworks MX2004 is a graphics editing program that integrates tightly with Dreamweaver.

The following tutorials are Flash based movies (SWF files) that were developed by Rick Stevens using Macromedia Captivate. They are offered free to anyone in education. However, all rights are reserved. Follow along by downloading the exercise files to the right. Feedback is highly welcome!

Download trial software from Adobe (which purchased Macromedia), or find out more about how to do things. Individual educator prices available, or volume licensing for sites.
